The Competency Based Questions or CBQs are short essay type questions of no more than 250 words that were included in the old format in a separate paper following on from the MCQ examination. These have now been replaced with the Professional Dilemma section which includes the SJTs, but we have kept this section on our website to help you prepare for interviews at the stage 3 selection. For example CBQs check out our CBQ section here; subscribers have free access to more advice on answering these questions in addition to some example answers.
The Situational Judgement Test (SJT) was introduced as a reasearch tool in September 2006, that is to say it was introduced to see if it could be used in further assessments to select suitable candidates. It did not, therefore, form part of the assessment and had no influence on marking or selecion. It is now anticipated that it will be used in the 2007 selection.
The SJT is a test of judgement and behaviours, in a way similar to the CBQ section as it matches your suitability to the National Person Specification. It is not, therefore, a test of knowledge and can't as such be 'revised for'. we do, however, provide some example questions in our Situation Judgement Test section here
